Thanks for the video! I just wanted to suggest any vase or jar filled with sand or gravel as a base for the solar lamps. :)

GREAT JOB! I started doing this.but they work WAY better if you take off the clear plastic part and turn them upside down with the light bulb pointed to the ceiling.
IT makes an awesome nightlight in a kids room too,and a good way to teach them about saving our mother Earth.

Dollar Tree is doing a sell on these, obviously a dollar each. Now I am sure it is cheap lighting, but just figured i would give that bit of info. It's a good idea.

A nice cheap way of doing things though a bit of a pain for indoor use.
Got to keep outside to charge then bring inside during a storm or whatever :)
Better off just having flashlights for short term outages.

Or if you wanna go the extra mile, getting a real solar panel with price's going down and plenty of subsidies to lower the cost even more. Then you can use your normal lights :) + Fridge + radio/tv/computer to keep updated on news :D

Your battery is not a renewable source either. And just because you replace your battery with higher mAH one, you haven't shown that your cell has enough capacity to charge it up. It's like trying to put water in a bucket from the trickle of a hose - just because you use a larger bucket, doesn't mean you collect more water if the trickle on the hose stays the same. You bought a very cheap product, expect it to provide something equally as cheap.

I thought I was dumb! LOL!
I just bought 6 set's of 8 wally's best amber solar yard light's @ 28.00 a set with free shipping! What I done is to put a shit load around the yard to set the pup's out at night to do their business.

I hung the rest in trees around the garden. I put fishing swivel snaps with highly polished S.S. 1" wide twisted like a noodle to run deer and rabbits off! During the day it runs the birds out! 300 yards back from the house on our ponderosa it looks like fire's! something ZEN about fires that every living creature respect's! Peace!
