Solar Garden Lights Light Your Yard And Are Eco Friendly
The wife wanted to add some lighting to her flower garden around our back deck so we purchased 2 boxes of 4 One Stop Gardens solar lights (Item # 67729) on eBay and I installed them to my 4 x 4 deck posts.. The Flip video doesn’t do these justice due to it’s very limited night time exposure but trust me, these look sharp at night!
The power for my amateur radio station is in transition as I slowly convert back to solar (the station at my previous house, including lights and other peripherals, was 100% solar power). What you see here are a bunch of alligator clip leads connecting two solar charged batteries to my Elecraft K1 QRP transceiver and MorseMachine electronic keyer via Anderson PowerPole DC power connectors. I key the MorseMachine with a Kent iambic paddle and occasionally use that little Morse Express Christmas Key (Serial # 003 – 2001) for key-down/tune-up purposes. Also featured in this video is my Kenwood R-600 general coverage receiver, Kenwood TR-751A all-mode 2 meter transceiver, and the aforementioned Elecraft K1. The computers (the black cabinet on the left is under construction awaiting a Quad processing motherboard and maybe a couple 1 tb hard drives – all are state-of-the-art as of this writing) are almost never used for radio purposes (except maybe for looking stuff up on the Internet) with one always configured as a dedicated Linux box. The Malibu 12 LED Flood Light is one of the best solar lights I have come across so far, it is very bright and has two brightness settings. I’ve tried the Malibu Floods with the three LEDs, and the pathway solar lights with 2 LEDs. This by FAR is the brightest solar light made by Malibu. If you are looking for a great garden light, landscape light or just need more light where there is no electricity then this is it. I have two of them mounted above my garage pointed towards my driveway and they work great! A little more $ but well worth it. Each of these lights put out the power of about four of the original Malibu solar floods.
